Upcoming Black Forest Inn Menu Cover Contests

The Black Forest Inn has 42 years of history with local artists, art students and art lovers. The restaurant is home to many works of art by locally and nationally known artists including Richard Avedon, Chuck Huntington, Michael Lynch, Jack Barkla and Bernie Quick. Now you have a chance to be included among them!

Submission Guidelines

For all contests:

• All artwork must be original to the artist.
• Please submit two 8 ½ x 11 inch copies of the artwork. The winning artist will be required to submit a copy electronically.
• Please include your name, address, phone number and email address with your submission.
• Please include your name on the back of each copy of your artwork.
• Artwork may be in full color.

• You may also drop off your submission during business hours, which are
  9 am to midnight every day.

For the Fasching contest:

• The words "Black Forest Inn", "Fasching" and "2008" must appear on the artwork.
• Submissions are due Friday, January 25, 2008.
  (Fasching is February 5; it’s the same as Fat Tuesday, Carnival or Mardi Gras)

For the Anniversary contest:

• The words "Black Forest Inn", "Established May 15, 1965", and "2008" must appear on the artwork.
• Submissions are due Friday, May 3, 2008
  (Anniversary is May 15)

For the National Bratwurst Day contest:

• The words "Black Forest Inn", "National Bratwurst Day" and "2008" must appear on the artwork.
• Submissions are due July 25, 2008
  (National Bratwurst Day is August 3)

For the Oktoberfest contest:

• The words "Black Forest Inn", "2008", and "Oktoberfest" must appear on the artwork.
• Submissions are due Friday, September 12, 2008 (Oktoberfest begins Sept 26)

For the Holiday contest:

• The words "Black Forest Inn", "2008" and "Holiday" must appear on the artwork.
• Submissions are due Friday, November 14, 2008

Terms of the Contests:

• Each winning entry will be displayed as the cover of the dinner menus. The Oktoberfest winner will also be displayed as a poster. Additionally, each winner will be displayed on the Black Forest website, www.blackforestinnmpls.com.
• The winning artist receives $100 in gift certificates to the Black Forest Inn and a Black Forest t-shirt.
• The Black Forest Inn retains permission to use the artwork in whatever capacity it deems appropriate and for as long as necessary.
• The artist will be acknowledged wherever the artwork is used.
